Partnership Press Release Templates

Announce alliances, integrations, distribution deals, community partnerships, and co-branded products — with the customer benefit, not the handshake, as the headline.

5 distinct templatesEdit online freeWord · PDF · Google DocsNo signup

The fatal flaw of partnership releases is announcing the relationship instead of the result. "X partners with Y" is a handshake; "X customers can now do Z" is news. Every template below forces the customer-visible outcome into the headline and first paragraph, then explains the mechanics.

Both partners should approve the final text — build review time into your schedule, and agree upfront on who distributes and whether it's joint or single-branded.

Use one of these templates when…

  • Two companies launch a strategic alliance or joint go-to-market
  • Your product now integrates with another platform
  • A distribution, reseller, or licensing agreement expands availability
  • You're partnering with a nonprofit or community organization
  • Two brands release a co-created product

Strategic Alliance

Two companies, one joint ambition — the market problem neither could crack alone.

Technology Integration

For product-to-product connections — the workflow unlocked, in the users' vocabulary.

Distribution / Reseller Agreement

For channel deals — new geography or market access, availability dates, and channel details.

Nonprofit / Community Partnership

For corporate-nonprofit collaborations — the commitment quantified and the community outcome first.

Co-Branded Product Collaboration

For two brands, one product — the collab story, the design credit split, and the drop details.

Writing tips for partnership releases

  • 1Lead with what customers can now do — the partnership is the mechanism, not the story.
  • 2Get one quote from each partner, and make them say different things: one covers the customer value, the other the strategic fit.
  • 3Name the availability: where, when, and for whom the joint offering is live.
  • 4Both partners get an About paragraph, every time.
  • 5Agree on distribution logistics early — simultaneous publication looks coordinated; staggered looks chaotic.

Frequently asked questions

Who should publish the partnership release?

Ideally both companies distribute the same approved text at the same time, each through their own channels. If only one distributes, the other should at minimum share it. Decide this before drafting, not after.

What if the deal terms are confidential?

Terms almost never need disclosure in a partnership release. Focus on what launches and when. "Financial terms were not disclosed" is a normal, unremarkable sentence if anyone asks.

How do we handle two brands' messaging in one release?

Write one story with two voices, not two stories stapled together. The lead names both companies once, the body follows a single narrative, and each company gets exactly one quote and one About paragraph.

Is an integration really worth a press release?

If a meaningful customer group gains a workflow they previously couldn't have, yes. If it's one of forty connectors shipped this quarter, it belongs in release notes — save the wire for integrations with named partners your market recognizes.
